Trailer-Mounted Water Well Drilling Rig
The WRTR600 is a 600 m-class trailer-mounted drilling rig centered on rotary table drilling and mud circulation. The equipment integrates a diesel generator, 3NB-130 mud pump, rotary table, dual winches, mast, outriggers, and auxiliary breakout mechanism on a trailer-mounted chassis, making it suitable for deep water wells, geothermal wells, hydrogeological surveys, general geological exploration, and some foundation engineering drilling.
The entire drilling rig can be transported between different projects by a suitable towing vehicle, reducing the complexity of transporting the mast, power, and mud system separately. For contractors working on village and town water wells, agricultural irrigation, geothermal, and engineering drilling, this structure is better suited for continuous construction across multiple sites.
With a maximum drilling depth of 600 m and a maximum drilling diameter of 500 mm, it can be used for medium-to-deep groundwater development, agricultural and industrial water wells, and can also handle some geothermal surveys and medium-depth geothermal well projects. Actual drilling depth and hole diameter will be affected by formation, drilling tools, mud circulation, casing design, and downhole resistance.
The rotary table offers three speeds: 38 / 57 / 85 r/min, corresponding to theoretical torques of approximately 13.8 / 9.2 / 6.2 kN·m. The low-speed gear provides higher torque, making it more suitable for larger hole diameters, heavy drilling tools, and formations with greater resistance; higher speeds are suitable for drilling stages with lower resistance.
The 500 mm rotary table through-hole provides working space for larger drill pipes, casing, and some engineering drilling tools, making it suitable for larger-diameter hole opening and casing operations in water wells and foundation engineering. The final hole diameter should still be determined based on formation and well completion design.
The main winch has a single-line pull of 40 kN, and the auxiliary winch has a single-line pull of 30 kN. They can respectively handle drilling tool lifting, casing assistance, tool transport, and on-site coordination operations. During deep hole construction, wire ropes, braking systems, and drum spooling status should be inspected regularly.

The swivel has a maximum load of 30 T and an inner diameter of 63.5 mm, capable of handling deep hole drill strings and mud circulation conditions. As hole depth increases, the drill string weight and borehole wall friction gradually rise, so the matching among the swivel, winch, kelly, and drill pipe is very important.
The short mast version has an effective height of 12 m and is equipped with a 7.5 m kelly and 5.5 m drill pipe; the long mast version has an effective height of 15 m and is equipped with a 10.5 m kelly and 9 m drill pipe. The short mast is more conducive to transportation and site adaptability, while the long mast can reduce the number of pipe connections and improve continuous drilling efficiency in deep holes.
The equipment integrates an SCGC-200kW diesel generator set with a rated voltage of 380 V, rated current of 360 A, and frequency of 50 Hz. It can supply power to the mud pump, hydraulic oil pump, and auxiliary electrical equipment, making it suitable for remote areas and projects lacking a stable power grid.
The 3NB-130 mud pump has a specified displacement of 8.4–16.6 L/s, a rated working pressure of 5–10 MPa, and is driven by a 90 kW motor. Mud circulation can be used to carry drill cuttings, cool the drill bit, maintain borehole wall stability, and control downhole pressure, making it an important system for construction in loose formations.
In soil, clay, and soft overburden layers, mud viscosity should be adjusted according to formation permeability, hole diameter, and return conditions. Mud that is too thin may lead to insufficient cuttings removal and borehole wall instability, while mud that is too thick will increase circulation resistance and mud pump load.
Sand layers, gravel layers, and loose overburden are prone to hole collapse and mud loss. Appropriate mud performance can be used in combination with temporary casing or staged casing installation to first establish a stable hole section before continuing deeper.

Weathered rock and soil-rock mixed formations exhibit obvious changes in hardness. Depending on actual conditions, roller bits, drag bits, or other rotary drilling tools can be selected, and the construction state can be adjusted in conjunction with rotary table speed, torque, and mud pump displacement.
The WRTR600 can be used for village and town domestic water wells, farmland irrigation wells, orchards, and large-scale agricultural groundwater development. The 600 m-class drilling depth provides greater water-finding margin for areas with deep groundwater levels. During well completion, well casing, screen pipes, and pumps should be designed based on aquifer location.
Factories, industrial parks, construction camps, and infrastructure projects can use the WRTR600 for medium-to-deep groundwater development. For projects requiring larger well diameters and higher water output, the 500 mm maximum drilling capacity and mud rotary system provide greater space for well completion configuration.
The 600 m-class drilling depth and high-pressure mud circulation capability make the equipment suitable for some geothermal surveys and medium-to-deep geothermal well projects. In geothermal construction, in addition to drilling depth, formation temperature, circulation medium, casing, and cementing requirements also need to be considered.
The equipment can be used for hydrogeological surveys and general formation drilling, judging formation transitions and groundwater conditions through drill cuttings, return water, mud parameters, and drilling changes. If a project requires continuous high-quality cores, a dedicated core drilling rig should be used.
The short mast transportation dimensions are approximately 15100 × 2480 × 4100 mm, and the long mast transportation dimensions are approximately 16630 × 2480 × 4100 mm. Before cross-regional construction, road width, turning radius, bridge load capacity, height limits, and local trailer transportation requirements should be confirmed.
Before starting work, inspect the mast, winch, wire rope, swivel, rotary table, mud pump, generator, and electrical system; when raising the mast, confirm that there are no overhead lines or obstacles above; during mud circulation, pay attention to high-pressure lines, pump pressure, and leaks; personnel must not stand under suspended drilling tools or near rotating drilling tools.
Due to differences in actual geological conditions, downhole tools, drilling angles, and operating methods, the final drilling efficiency, drilling depth, and well completion results should be based on on-site conditions.
